Ariana Grande’s new studio album Positions is a different approach to her regular pop music. Grande has brought her fans plenty of hits such as “No Tears Left to Cry,” “Thank You, Next,” and most recently “Rain On Me” featuring Lady Gaga. However, this album provides nothing but washed-up beats and boredom, something you wouldn’t expect from Grande.
Grande has definitely matured with this album, but it’s a little too grown-up for her audience. The beats are repetitive and the lyrics are basic. Thank You, Next, Grande’s previous album, had fans screaming her lyrics, but it’s just not there for this album.
I’ve been a fan of Grande’s ever since she left the Nickelodeon TV show “Victorious,” so it’s hard for me to say that this album was her worst one yet. It’s great how she’s able to experiment with her music rather than having similar albums every time, but there’s a lack of passion and pop. I hope she goes back to what she does best.
