In a time when many teenagers are wasting their time inside on the internet, but not freshman Eric Beshears. Whether it’s summer or winter, he’s at practice working out.

“I enjoy doing sports,” Beshears said. “They keep me busy.”

Beshers is on the JV football team this year. He’s a tailback in offense and a linebacker on defense. He is pushing himself to make it onto varsity.

“Eric works hard and is always giving a 100 percent,” teammate Jordan Rogers said. “ He’s a good football player.”

Besides running for the ball during football season, Beshears also plans to participate in track and basketball. He’s also planning to join FFA. As busy as Beshears is, football is still his first love.

“Both track and basketball are fun,” Beshears said. “They also help keep me in shape.”

In addition, Beshears also likes to fish when he can. He doesn’t plan to join anything besides FFA and sports because of all the sports he’s going to participate in. They help keep him focused and on top of his school work and grades.

“He’s a good student and turns his work in on time,” English teacher Anna Bailey said. “ He’s active in class and is an overall good kid.”

Beshears hopes to follow in his brother’s footsteps and go to college. He wants to play football college and become a state trooper. He’s also considering becoming a football coach.

“Being a football coach seems exiting,” Beshears said. “I want to teach kids how to play football and be good at it.”
