After a one-year hiatus, Ed Sheeran released his long-awaited third album ÷, or Divide. After being #2 on the Billboard 200 for five weeks in a row, the album has been a huge success.
The album has a mixture of melodic run throughs in a staggering array of styles. From Celtic folk to impassioned serenades, Sheeran’s album expands to various different genres. It was indeed something to wait for.
Some of his songs that stood out were “Nancy Mulligan”, which is sung from his grandfather’s perspective of his life with his grandmother; “What Do I Know” shows what he has learned about the world in his lifetime and musical career; “Perfect” is similar to his last hit song, “Thinking Out Loud”, which is about the feeling of being in love.
