The JV Bison played Centerville on Thursday and secured a win with a score of 6-0. Even though the team had its doubters after a couple of lackluster scrimmages, they pulled through with the victory.
The defense had a great performance, allowing only eight first downs for Centerville during the entire game.
“It was a defensive game, and the JV defense had a great performance,” Coach Jesse House said. “Keeping any team to just eight first downs is not an easy thing to do.”
The offense had a rough time getting on the board. Their early-game touchdown held up for the entire game, though.
“We had some trouble offensively with blocking and just overall moving the ball,” Coach Jesus Rodriguez said. “We did score and the energy was lifted after that.”
The team will spend the week preparing for Eustace and hopes for a 2-0.
“Winning against Centerville felt great; we hadn’t won in a long time, and I’m glad I was a part of it,” junior Trevor Grisset said. “I can’t wait to play Eustace and be 2-0.”
