Earlier this year, students started writing positive, inspirational quotes in the girls’ restroom. It all started off with a student putting a sticky note on the mirror. Then girls started adding more, and someone put a stack of sticky notes in the restroom. Now there are three posters full of quotes on the wall.

The positive action drew the attention of the teachers, and pictures were submitted to KBTX-TV in College Station, which aired it in their “Reason to Smile” segment earlier this week.

“It doesn’t matter who started it,” Junior Sydney Lebel said. “It matters if people continue to do it and if people gain positivity and inspiration from it to change the world into a better place for future generations.”

Lebel was actually the one who started putting the notes on the mirror and said she wasn’t going to tell people at first.

“I had seen a video where a girl had put a sticky note in a girl’s textbook with a little message, and the girl who received the note passed it on to someone else, and it continued to be passed around,” Lebel said. “So, I decided to just put a sticky note on the bathroom mirror saying ‘have a good day beautiful’.”

“Every time I go into the restroom it puts a smile on my face and makes me feel good about myself,” freshman Nidia Dominguez said. “I come out feeling happy and it just makes my day.”
