Putting on their seatbelts and lockbars, the girls begin to rise. They continue to go higher and higher and circle around. They make it to the top of the 400-foot Texas Skyscreamer and are able to view the city of Arlington and beyond.

“The Texas Skyscreamer was my favorite ride,” senior Ally Smith said. “I always ride it when the Belles go to Six Flags.”

The Belles took their annual trip to Six Flags of Texas in Arlington for their first competition of the year.

“The girls did very good at the competition,” director Melissa Isaacs said. “I know a lot of the girls just came for the rides, but they still danced good.”

The girls were able to dance in front of the crowd and their director, as well as the former director Amanda Harter.

“For some of us it was cool to be able to dance in front of Mrs. Harter and make her proud,” senior Lupita Martinez said. “I also like being able to make Ms. Isaacs proud.”

Fright Fest was going on when the Belles were riding rides.

“Six Flags was decorated with all different types of Halloween decorations,” senior Mykayla Dennix said. “I was able to stay when the fest started. It was an cool experience.”

The girls used the time to bond with one another as they rode rides.

“I got to know some of the other Belles quickly,” freshman Emma Adams said. “I had a lot of fun. I can’t wait to go back next year.”
