No band, no music, just their voices. The Barden Bellas is an all-female a cappella group at Barden University, and their antics in Pitch Perfect will keep you laughing from beginning to end.
College student Beca (Anna Kendrick) has always had a dream to move to L.A and make it in show business. At college she finds herself thrust in among mean gals, nice gals and just plain weird gals. It doesn’t take her long to realize how well they sing together, even if that is the only thing they have in common. She takes the women out of their comfort zone and into a world of amazing harmonic combinations in a fight for the top of college a cappella music competitions.
Pitch Perfect is truly an ensemble comedy. Kendrick hits the perfect note between sharp and sociable, is impressive as the new girl mystified by the social structure of her new school. But Rebel Wilson’s Fat Amy — she calls herself that so no one will do it to her behind her back — is a bold scene-stealer who is delightful to watch.
Overall, this is one of my favorite movies, especially when I need a good laugh (but also a good cry. I have watched this film over and over again and would highly recommend it.
