Senior Mollie Dittmar has been named KBTX Classroom Champion. Dittmar was interviewed and filmed last week for her segment, which will air Thursday night at 6 p.m. She will be given recognition for her accomplishments on the basketball court and in the classroom.
“Honestly, I don’t think I deserve any recognition,” Dittmar said. “I’m just doing what I do to the best of my ability.”
Dittmar’s achievements include going to state in basketball, CX debate successes, homecoming nomination, student of the month, going to regionals for track and field, and has a high GPA and ranking.
“All the glory to God; He has given me the brains and determination to do my very best in everything I do,” Dittmar said. “I think the competitive perfectionism that I’ve been blessed with has helped drive my accomplishments.
Throughout her high school career, Dittmar has made an effort to be a motivating leader in class. She is described as kind and hard-working by her classmates.
“Mollie helps and inspires me every day,” senior Andrea Daniel said. “She basically helped me graduate.”
When she’s not studying for an upcoming test, Dittmar takes her talents to the court. She has played for the varsity basketball team since her freshman year.
“She’s always striving to be the best she can be all the time,” senior Samantha Pate said. “Mollie is super determined and works really hard.”
