I’ve always wondered what it feels like to be just undeniably pretty.
In the movie I Feel Pretty, a woman struggles to appreciate her own beauty. Amy Schumer stars as Renee Barnett in this empowering movie that teaches women to love themselves. Renee Barnett is a middle-aged woman that slowly comes to realize that she is pretty despite society’s definition of the word.
There are parts of the movie that are emotional. She notices all these pretty women being skinny and pretty, whereas, in her own eyes she is anything but. To stop the movie from being a super sad one, there are a lot of parts in which Schumer is able to display her comedy skills. In one part of the movie Schumer says, “Proud to be bargain hunters!” as she looks around stores for sales.
As the movie progresses, Schumer believes that she is the most beautiful woman after she had a fall in a cycling class. She begins to live her life fearlessly and confidently. At the end of the movie, she realizes that nothing about her changed. That is when she realizes that she has always been a beautiful woman she just never believed it.
I Feel Pretty is a must-watch to understand that all women have their doubts about themselves. The movie has the audience feeling empowered and strong about their looks.
