Theatre students from the upper junior high and high school worked together with directors Brittany Scott and Melonie Menefee to put on a kiddie camp for students in grades K-5. The student actors performed a variation of The Three Pigs and performed The Kindness Song.
“I think they improved a lot over the week,” junior Brock Corbitt said. “They did a good job, especially for how young they are. The performance went well.”
The campers had fun, but so did their student directors and producers.
“I really enjoy having this opportunity to lead the kids,” senior Tristan Cole said. “I think it is important for the kids to learn how to be social with others.”
The show slowly progressed over the week with assistance from Theatre 1 students for props. On the day of the performance, many parents showed up in support of the kids. The children acted their hearts out and put on the best show they could.
“It was definitely chaotic, but so worth it,” sophomore Kaleb Brazda said. “Those kids ended up being a treat to work with.”
