The volleyball team wrapped up their district season this week, remaining in a tie for fourth place that will be settled next week. The football team continued on its winning streak, while the cross country regional runners kept preparing for their next meet.
Football
The varsity hosted Leon this week to play for their eighth game. The team went on to defeat the Cougars 49-10. The team scored a total of eight touchdowns this past Friday.
“We were all ready for this game,” senior Alvaro Sanchez said. ”In my opinion this is the one game everyone has been getting ready for since last year.”
According to Max Preps, the Bison are now ranked 14th in the state for classification 3A. Now with an 8-0 record the bison are in the fight to win the district championship title.
“I am really proud of the boys, “ junior Hector Dominguez said. “They have worked extremely hard the past few weeks they deserve to be at the place they are now.”
Volleyball
The Lady Bison played against both Frankston and Elkhart this past week. The ladies fell short to both teams, but are working to get better for the next round and earn a spot for the playoffs.
“We have once chance to earn that spot,” sophomore Samantha Pate said. “If we win next week, we will play .”
The Lady Bison will play a tie-breaker game next week on either Thursday or Friday night.
