A 14-year-old girl, Nakia Vedanta, broadcast her death live from her Miami foster home. The young girl used a scarf and tied it to her restroom shower door frame to hang herself. Friends and mourners are unclear of what led up to the suicide, but some friends actually saw the broadcast live.
When one of the girl’s friends who was watching the broadcast called the police, the police arrived at the foster home and found the girl hanging in her restroom. They tried to revive her, but she was declared dead a few moments after being discovered. Authorities and the secretary of The Department of Children and Families are looking further into the child’s history for the answers to the suicide.
