Philippines war on drugs increases

Philippines+war+on+drugs+increases

Statistics released by the national police on Monday show that the “war on drugs” in the Philippines has been a bloodier war than thought to be. There have been 5,927 deaths led by the Philippine president, Rodrigo Duterte and his police force. In total 2,086 people, those who were drug users or dealers, have been killed by police operations and 3,841 in extrajudicial-style killings.

President Duterte was elected of last May on the platform of dealing with the drug problem in the Philippines, and he has not backed down, killing those who had any type of an encounter with any type of drug. Police records show that since July, officers have knocked down more than five million houses associated with drugs. Thousands of people have lost loved ones that were associated with drugs and do not agree on the critical action President Duterte took in the country, insisting that many of their loved ones needed and asked for rehabilitative help.
