Hubie Halloween makes a great less-scary choice

Hubie Halloween brings us another Adam Sandler classic underdog story with a spooky twist. He’s best known for playing losers and Hubie Halloween is another example of that. This comedy film provides viewers with laughs and frights- it’s the perfect movie to watch with friends on Halloween night.

Hubie, played by Adam Sandler, is “assigned” a Halloween mission to protect the citizens of Salem, Massachusetts. Although no one appreciates his efforts, he continues to uncover mysteries while dodging the scares and occasional axes that are thrown his way. When several citizens suddenly go missing, Hubie attempts to rescue these victims before it’s too late.

The movie features many familiar faces including actors for childhood Disney shows as well as several cast members from “Grown Ups.” The film also includes actors such as Noah Schnapp, Ben Stiller, Kenan Thompson, Shaquille O’Neal and Maya Rudolph. Although Cameron Boyce was originally part of the cast, he was remembered in the end credits.

The film did feature several awkward moments, but Hubie Halloween was a kind-hearted movie that didn’t fail to make me laugh. It was no surprise how it’s one of the most popular movies on Netflix right now. Even with everything that is currently happening in our world, this film lightens and distracts us from it. I recommend Hubie Halloween to anyone who’s not a fan of watching scary movies or to anyone who just wants a good laugh. It’s honestly a great movie for everyone.
