Sophomore Mollie Dittmar is mostly known for her amazing athletic ability. Dittmar can do anything that she sets her mind to, including dominating on the basketball court. Because of her skills, Dittmar was awarded the TABC class 3-A all- region basketball award last month.

“When I was told that I had received the award, I was shocked,” Dittmar said. “I really didn’t think that I deserved such an award; it was truly humbling.”

The award was given to a few exemplary athletes chosen by coaches throughout their region. To the teammates that have played with Dittmar for years, the award was no surprise.

“Mollie is super athletic and she loves everything she participates in,” junior Melanie McGill said. “I knew that she would receive this award with no competition.”

Dittmar will receive her award at the athletic banquet that will be held some time in May. Dittmar said she is excited to be presented the honor.

“I can’t wait to receive my award,” Dittmar said. “However, I wouldn’t be in this position without all of the blessings God has given me.”
