Deaths in church incident of Nigeria

Monday night in Lagos, Nigeria, 23 people died due to the collapse of a church. The incident happened all at once and unexpectedly; the church members were dancing and singing when it sounded like rain was falling. However, it was the building collapsing. Many people, including the governor, were able to escape without any injures, but many were unable to get out in time.

Planks of the ceiling on the church caved in, leaving the church in debris. While it is unsure what caused the building collapse, the people of Lagos have ordered immediate arrest to the contractor who handled the building. Residents of the state have been mourning all week and are showing tribute to the deaths of the incident by flying flags at half staff.
