Florida school shooting devastates many

On a day that was supposed to be filled with love and happiness, hate and terror reigned in a Florida high school. On Valentine’s Day, 17 students were killed and others were wounded in a school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The suspect, Nicolas Cruz, 19 was carrying a duffle bag filled with loaded weapons, as he arrived to the school around 2:19 p.m.

Cruz was dropped at the school in an uber and pulled out a semi automatic AR- 15 rifle, and began shooting students in the first and second floors of the freshman building. After shooting, Cruz walked out of the school and went along with his day. He went to a Subway in Walmart to buy a drink, and then to a Mcdonalds. He was later arrested that day around 3:41 p.m.

Following the horrible tragedy of that day, students gathered in remembrance of the victims. A large crowd gathered at Pine Trails Park in Parkland for an emotional ceremony; the football players also gathered nearby praying for the loss of the athletic director and other students/teachers. More and more schools gather together and cry for yet another mass shooting of this year.
