Von Zimmer releases his first album

Von Zimmer is an indie rock musician/songwriter in South Dakota. He has been working on music since he was 13 years old. Zimmer played in a few other unknown bands before the release of his album.

Zimmer released his first album Freddie’s Extra Teeth sometime during the December of 2015. There is actually a backstory as to why his album is called Freddie’s Extra Teeth. Freddie’s Extra Teeth is a reference to Freddie Mercury, the former lead singer of the rock band Queen. Allegedly Mercury had a few extra teeth that he refused to get removed, because he was afraid of losing his ability to sing high notes.

Freddie’s Extra Teeth, is definitely something different. Before I was giving this album to review I had never listened to indie rock. I don’t know if it was the rough voice and weird flow of the songs, or if it’s because I don’t listen to this genre of music, but this was not that appealing to me. I think that I will stick with country and pop rock, because this is genre of music is not my style at all. Personally I think that the songs were a little all over the place, but each of them had a theme that was tied to how our world/life is today.

If you are someone who likes this kind of music, or you just want to try listening something new and unusual, then this album if for you. I wish I had enjoyed this album more, but I just wasn’t feeling it. If you are interested in purchasing Freddie’s Extra Teeth, it is available on iTunes and Amazon.
