The end of football season does not mean the end of cheer for members of the cheer squad, including freshman Yurit Espino. Her life gets a little busier because she adds basketball into the mix (as well as golf later in the spring), but preparing for the state cheer competition means that cheer practices stay as intense as ever. For Espino, though, intense practices with coaches whom she loves make cheer her favorite thing to do.
“Everyone should do cheer,” Espino said. “It’s so fun. I wish I could just do cheer every day; it’s relaxing for me, and I have fun with my friends.¨
Those same friends as well as others say they love having Espino in their lives.
“She’s an amazing person, Kyleigh DeBorde said. “She gives me the answers to homework in PHS class when I don’t do them. I’m glad I met her; I love her so much .”
That sweetness has been noticed by her teachers, as well.
“She’s smart and gets her work done on time and it’s never late,” Principles of Health teacher Stacy Cornett said. “I love having her in my class.”
