Last Thursday was the day when it all became clear. Seniors ordered their cap and gowns from Balfour, and for some of them, it brought home the reality of graduation at the end of the year.

“I finally realized that I’m a senior,” senior Erica Rios said. “It really hit my then because I don’t want to leave, but I do want to leave. It was a bittersweet moment, but I am excited to graduate because I’m ready for college.”

Others had already accepted the fact that they’re leaving and were not affected much by ordering their graduation garb.

“It wasn’t really sad,” senior Jade Morales said. “I’ve kind of already adjusted to the fact I’m going to leave, but it was process though. I am sad that I’m a senior, but the time has come for us to move on.”

Others still aren’t ready to accept the fact they’re almost real adults.

“I’m sad that I’m a senior,” senior Gabby Curlee said. “That means I have to be an adult. Like take on responsibilities and do grown up stuff and it’s kind of depressing.”

Others are just glad it’s finally over and can move on to start a new chapter in their lives.

“It’s a relief that we finally made it through school,” senior Jacob Davis said. “I’m going to hate leaving all my friends. But it’s going to be cool making new ones.”
