Most little girls want to be princesses or fairies when they get older, but not Jordan Ward; she has always wanted something a little different than most little girls.
Ward has had a passion for animals ever since childhood and she hopes to go to veterinarian school in the future. The 18-year-old senior has had her pet ferret, Lucky, for seven years. Ward said that she has had many other cats and dogs, but Lucky is her favorite because he is so friendly.
“Lucky is the funniest ferret you will ever meet,” Ward said. “He loves to cuddle up next to me at night; he’s my cuddle buddy.”
Ward is assisted by aide Percillar Reed in a few of her classes.
“Mrs. Percillar goes to some of my classes with me and we have fun together,” Ward said. “She is my favorite assistant because we get to paint and learn together.”
Reed said she and Ward get to spend a lot of time together.
“Jordan and I have floral design, art, lunch and a few other classes together,” Reed said. “She is a good student and I’m glad to get to spend time with her.”
Reed and Ward have worked on many projects together throughout the years.
“My favorite thing to do with Jordan is floral design because it is her favorite class,” Reed said. “We have made mums together the past two years and had a lot of fun making other stuff.”
Ward said her best friend is sophomore Jordan Steele.
“Jordan is my best friend,” Steele said. “I find it funny how we have the same first names and a lot of the same classes. I love when we get to make stuff together and cook together.”
Steel said he is sad to see Jordan graduate this year.
“I’m so sad that Jordan is graduating, but she is happy about it so I am too,” Steele said. “I hope we stay best friends forever.”
