In honor of homecoming week, the teachers decided to team up and decorate the hallways to hype up the football players and show off their school spirit.
“The hallways were great; I loved them,” junior Riley Webb said. “They showed tons of school spirit.”
Each hallways was different, with some incorporating details from the subjects taught. The art hallway had football players silhouettes with each player’s number. Students from those classes helped decorate the hallways.
“It was hard work to put up, but once it was all over with it was a masterpiece,” junior Melanie McGill said. “Everyone in my art class helped with the Art and Ag hallway decorations.”
The math and history hallways had throwbacks from older student athletes. According to students it was really nice to see how different students from other decades dressed and styled themselves. Teachers Jill Henson, Sheila Rubel and Tammy Oldham stayed late to decorate that hall. In addition, the Life Skills class had a Halloween spirit theme on their door.
“It is really neat to see people I know during their high school years,” junior McKenzie Ryder said. “I did not recognize some of them because they’ve changed so much.”
The science hallway was decorated by teachers Megan McMullen and Patrice Cox. They had scientific ideas that were very spirited.
“The science hallway was my favorite,” junior Jake Henigan said. “It was really neat how they made words using the elements in the periodic table.”
The football players said they enjoyed the nice gesture and loved taking pictures. Most said they loved that the science teachers made a periodic table with their names on it, like Greon, Kilgorine, and Garcine.
“I really loved the idea of the hall way decorating,” sophomore Roberto Garcia said. “My favorite part was seeing my dad in one of the throwback pictures; I also really loved the periodic table – it was brilliant.”
