East High School of Denver’s administration and coaches are under fire after videos surface of a cheer coach forcing cheerleaders into painful splits.
Seen in the videos re young girls screaming in pain after their coach and fellow cheerleaders hold and push them down into splits. The girls cry in agony, begging the coach to stop forcing them into the formation. The girls ask them to stop multiple times throughout the routine, yet are forced to continue.
No charges are being filed against the coach or the administration. The coach claims the videos are taken out of context “You can definitely say that what was in the video could be seen in a different light,” he said. “I would love to tell my story, but I can’t say anything else at this time.” The school’s principal, assistant principal and DPS deputy general counsel have been placed on leave as well as the coach and assistant coach
