When students at Cristo Rey Jesuit High noticed a strange smell, they knew something was wrong.
As the smell got stronger, some students started to cough and have trouble breathing. That is when staff and students started to evacuate the building and called the local fire department.
The fire department found that the smell was coming from a plug-in air freshener with the scent of pumpkin spice. A Hazmat team was sent to check for hazardous materials and the test came back negative.
Classes will resume on Friday.
