Drake’s new album tops the charts

“Nothing Was The Same”, Drake’s new album, hit the number one spot with 658,000 sells in just two weeks. The album capitalizes on what makes him stand out from all other rappers: emotion.

The way Drake sings with emotion in all of his music is what makes him a likeable rapper. He has become comfortable with producing R&B type music and obviously it works for him. The album beat all the other competition, taking the top spot and beating Kings of Leon’s “Mechanical Bull,” which came in at number two, and Cher’s “Closer to the Truth” which entered the chart at number three.

All of the songs on the album tell stories of flashbacks that Drake has had. One song, “From Time”, shows how greatly women have impacted his life. In this, Drake reminisces on his past relationships, which are full of regret.

The album is led by three singles: “Started From The Bottom”, “All Me’, and “Hold On, We’re Going Home”. Drake is joined by Jay Z, Sampha and many other well- known artists. The album has a large variety of artist that anyone could enjoy.
