President Barack Obama said goodbye to the nation Tuesday night, stating that his vision for progress has not been abandoned. His farewell contained flashbacks of the past eight years and the success of his presidency as well as the setbacks.
In his speech, he warned Americans that in this chaotic election season, racism and closed mindedness threatened our democracy. However, he said he believed even the deepest ideological divides could be bridged. He pledged to support his successor; however, he said he is still afraid of what is to come.
