Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he will cancel Boeing’s contract to build a new Air Force One. His reason for this is because according to him, they have “out of control”costs. He tweeted, “Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!”
However, the current cost is not $4 billion; it is $1.65 billion. Also, it is not clear whether Trump will act on his threat. Trump has stated that the profit is entirely too much for Boeing. “We are going to look for ways to save money,” Trump spokesperson Jason Miller said. “We’ll have a specifics after the president is sworn in.”
