Carrie Underwood strikes a high note

Country music singer Carrie Underwood just recently released a new single “Something In The Water”. The song is all about faith and expresses Underwood’s Christianity.

Singing a song about the importance of being baptised and having a relationship with God was a risk for Underwood. Not many fans agree with her beliefs, but the country superstar had no worries about alienating any of her fans.

“I’m not the first person to sing about God, Jesus, faith or any of that, and I won’t be the last,” she said in an interview in 2012. “It won’t be the last for me, either. If you don’t like it change the channel.”

The song had the best-selling first week of the ‘American Idol’ winner’s entire career. “Something In The Water” sold 124,000 digital copies in just the first week of release.
