Buffalo took a 13-6 lead with 5:33 left in the first half on a James Rodell one yard touchdown. The two-point conversion by Calvin Stephens was good to extend the Bison lead to 15-6.

The Bison were able to get in the end zone one more time before halftime. Joel Montano took the handoff from Rodell and ran the ball 16 yards for a Bison touchdown. The PAT by Werk was good to give the Bison the 22-6 lead.

The second half was a defensive battle as neither team scored.

“The JV played hard Thursday night to earn their first victory of the season, beating New Waverly 22-6.  The defense was solid and the offense moved the ball up and down the field,” head JV Coach Jared Grubbs said. “I’m very proud of our team and the effort they showed. We have improved all season long and will continue to.”

Buffalo will travel to Lexington on Thursday to take on the Eagles.
