The rise of Shawn Mendes has been meteoric – he first started posting cover videos on Vine in 2013 and picked up millions of views and followers in a matter of months, becoming well known for his six-second snippets of renditions of many popular songs.    Another star starting out unknown and making it to the top thanks to social networking –  Mendes broke through the rough barriers of the music world by just simply singing covers

Island Records noticed and signed Mendes earlier this year. His single “Life of the Party” made it to the Billboard Top 100, with Mendes the youngest artist (at age 15) to make the top 25.

Mendes’s debut EP contains a mix of his developing sound – already relaxed and at-home in his sound, this is an artist who will undoubtedly continue to climb as he puts in some time in front of the microphone.
