Members of the Class of 2015 celebrated a rite of passage in their senior year during Senior Walk Friday night, walking across the field before the homecoming game with their families while being introduced.

“It was something different to finally be the one walking instead of the one watching,” senior Clay LaCour said. “Homecoming came up so fast, I can’t imagine how quickly the rest of the year will go by.”

Just making sure to be there on time added to the pressure of walking across the field with everyone’s eyes watching.

“I was very nervous before the walk started because I wasn’t sure an aunt of mine was going to make it,” senior Maria Cortez said. “At the end everything turned out great, and I feel like this is one of the many nice memories I will have this year.”

The senior walk is one of many events that will take the seniors a step closer to their graduation day.

“Before Senior Walk started, I felt like I had finally made it, that it was finally my turn,” Kayla Hutchins said. “After Senior Walk I felt like I had just accomplished another milestone, and I was one step closer to graduation.”
