FFA students rise to the challenge
FFA students Christopher Yates and Shane Nelson lift senior Ben Reeder up and over the goal while adviser Henry Goff makes sure everyone stays safe. The group also had a team-building day at the beginning of the school year called Battle of the Gavel.
Building a bond among members has been a major goal of advisers FFA Henry Goff and Mandi Neal this year; last Friday’s FFA Challenge was no different.
“It makes us work as a team,” junior Rachel Sullivan said. “We have to communicate when we we’re doing the challenge.”
The students had to pick up a classmate and lift him (or her) over a board perched on two ladders. The last person to go had to be able to jump over it, so teams had to make strategic choices.
“It was a great team building game,” senior Jernon Hawley said. “It took strategy effort and most importantly teamwork, which makes the dream work.”
