Movie produces a new slant to action-adventure
The Edge of Tomorrow premiered during the summer of 2014. I happened to see it while it was in theaters and can admit I was quite impressed. I saw the trailer and didn’t think much of it until I was invited to see it with one of my friends. Of course, I went, and I was glad I did – the movie was great!
The Edge of Tomorrow is directed by Doug Liman starring Tom Cruise as Lieutenant Colonel Bill Cage and Emily Blunt as Rita Vrataski. It is an action movie that is infused with action throughout nearly every scene.
The Edge of Tomorrow is about an officer who has never before seen a day of combat when he is dropped into, basically, a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop – forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over and over again, fighting and dying repeatedly. With each battle, however, Cage engages his adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.
This movie is amazing. It repeats the same thing over and over, but in a different way. Most surprisingly, The Edge of Tomorrow is funny, also. It deserves 5 stars. This movie will have you laughing at it’s sly comments throughout.
