Student Council has been hosting craft tables during lunch for the past few months, and this month’s Christmas ornament table was so popular that they kept it up for two days with a wide variety of ornaments for students (and teachers) to choose from.
“It was so much fun watching the students come and pick out ornaments they wanted to decorate,” StuCo adviser Melonie Menefee said. “The best part was seeing the smile on their faces as they took them home with them.”
Students colored ornaments at the table, took them back to their table or took them to decorate later. Some students headed down to Menefee’s room later in the day to grab additional ornaments or to borrow markers to color with. Student Council members handed out ornaments and colored their own as well.
“I liked the ornament options there were. They were all adorable,” sophomore member Miriam Flores said. “I did two during lunch and went for a couple more later on in the day in her classroom. Mostly I’m happy to see so many students’ interactions and activities.”
Several organization members manned the table to help with crowd control and to help students get all of the materials they needed.
“I’m glad to be in the Student Council because we really try to do many things around the school and try to involve as many students as we can,” junior Brock Corbitt said. “I’m glad we are doing the tables every month and I can’t wait to see what all we do in the future.”
