The air was buzzing with excitement at the annual high school band competition, a colorful performance where students brought their A-game. From the bright uniforms to the equally bright melodies, the event was all about showcasing talent.
“The band competition was super fun,” sophomore Kaleb Barzda said. “We tried our hardest, regardless of the wind. We also got to see some other really awesome bands march.”
Despite not making the coveted division ones, the upperclassmen left this year with a smiles on their faces and instruments in hand, ready to pass down a tradition of excellence to the future of the band.
“It was fun and a great experience for my senior year,” senior Ethan Roberts states. “The kids, through the challenges and pressure, exceeded my expectations.”
Band leadership was proud of the job and the group’s efforts.
“The competition was the best last contest I could have ever hoped for,” drum major and senior Andie Kilgore said. “Everybody put their heart and soul into the performance and I am proud.”
