The Class of 2025 woke up bright and early to continue the annual tradition of Senior Sunrise. Students were able to enjoy their last first day of school with their classmates.
The seniors gathered in a circle and took a trip down memory lane. However, it was very short-lived as the students seemed bashful about speaking up in front of all the parents who were gathered around the group.
“I feel like people had fun, but didn’t speak too much because everyone was so tired,” class president Jose Martinez said. “I think everyone enjoyed the food, though.”
Parents of seniors and several staff members came to the field at 6:00 a.m. to help set everything up. They brought an assortment of juices and breakfast items.
“I really appreciated everything that our teachers and parents did for us,” senior James Boettcher said. “I would have to say that the best part was definitely the apple juice.”
Even though the event happened early in the morning, many still enjoyed the breakfast.
“It was very early, but worth it,” senior Adrian Villeda said. “It was really nice to have breakfast all together on our last first day.”
Despite the early start, students such as seniors like Andie Kilgore expressed their excitement for this upcoming school year.
“Senior Sunrise was a perfect way to start off my senior year,” Kilgore said. “ I felt recognized and I felt very comfortable and relieved to say I began my first day of school with a good, positive attitude because I participated. I feel great about this school year and what it will bring.”
