Last Friday all three volleyball teams traveled to Blooming Grove and came home with one win and two losses. JV Purple and JV White both took tough losses, but the coaches were pleased with their efforts.

“The girls played very well against a stout Blooming Grove team,” head coach Judi Harri said. “And for the varsity, this win puts us one step closer to our goal”

Senior Laramee Champion is a starting front-row player for varsity for the game.

“Last Friday was a great game for us, even though we still have a few things to work on,” Champion said. “Overall I think it was a great confidence booster for our starting district coming up”

Volleyball starts district play on Friday in Mexia, which is new to the district. The girls have a record of 13-15 and will try to continue that streak tonight against Hearne in their last pre-district matches.
