The Bison Brigade was up early on a Saturday morning to celebrate Veteran’s Day in the Palestine city parade. The group is becoming a regular fixture in the annual parade, and the members look forward to the time together.

“It was a good day for the parade,” field commander Emma Cocking said. “The parade was really nice and there was a good atmosphere for the whole event.”

The Palestine parade is considerably larger than the Buffalo Stampede Parade, the group’s first parade each fall.

“It was great to be able to perform in a larger parade with such a big crowd,” drum major Omar Almeida said. “It’s also fun to be able to perform for an audience that hasn’t heard us before, too.”
