Up top on the list of important things to do for the theatre group this year was cleaning out the shop area. When directors Melonie Menefee and Katie Villarreal took over last year, they hoped to spend the time after OAP in the spring cleaning up and organizing. Then COVID hit in the middle of OAP season, and the clean-up never happened. Instead, the group is building shelves and sorting out and throwing things away to start off their year.
“It was so crowded in the shop that it was hard to maneuver when we had things to build,” Menefee said. “We need to have room to be creative and do it safely, and clearing out and organizing is a big part of that. We will be much more effective in the shop once we are done.”
