On Sunday, January 21, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings with a 38-7 victory in the NFC championship game, securing their spot in Super Bowl LII. This will be the third time in Eagle’s history to make it to the Super Bowl.
The first time the Eagles appeared in the Super Bowl was in 1981 at Super Bowl XV, when they took on the Oakland Raiders and lost 27-10. In 2005, about 24 years later, the Eagles reappeared in Super Bowl XXXIX, where they battled against the New England Patriots and lost 24-21.
After 13 years the Eagles are back and will once again face off against the Patriots, who won the AFC championship game against the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20, securing their spot in Super Bowl LII. The Patriots have five Super Bowl victories under their belt, while the Eagles don’t have a single one. However, both the Eagles and the Patriots, are 15-3, and this season has been a great season for the Eagles, so maybe they’ll make history and pull off their first Super Bowl win.
The Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII on February 4 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
