FFA finished the LDE season last week after having two contests, one at Tarleton University and another in Madisonville.
On Tuesday, FFA traveled to Tarleton University to compete in their annual LDE contest.
“Tarleton is always a good contest to prepare for district,” Henigan said. “A lot of the teams that we compete with at district attend the contest.”
Junior Chapter Conducting, Junior Skills, Radio Broadcasting, Senior Skills received banners for fourth place.
“I have been to Tarleton every year for three years,” junior Charles Bosh said. “It is always a nice experience and helps calm nerves for district contest.”
Later on in the week, Thursday, FFA headed to district to compete.
“The ride to district was nerve wracking,” junior Ally Smith said. “It was the last chance we had to study before the contest that mattered.”
Five teams placed in the top five at district contest in Madisonville. Radio Broadcasting, Ag Advocacy, Greenhand Chapter Conducting all placed fourth. Senior chapter conducting placed fifth and Junior skills placed third.
“I really thought we were going to area, but I am still happy with the results,” FFA Historian Jake Henigan said. “This means that were closer to going further for next year.”
