Months away from graduating, seniors have plenty of priorities on their mind. One of these priorities is being able to fill out the FASFA correctly to be able to get financial aid for college.
“Filling out the FASFA is going to be so much work,“ senior Lilah Adams said. “It’s a long process of math.”
This week school counselor Debbie Read held a workshop for the seniors and parents to get a glimpse of the paperwork and some advice on how to tackle FASFA.
“I think it’s a good idea that our school is doing this,“ senior Chelsea Harter said. “I know a lot of people who don’t know how to fill out the FASFA.”
Navarro had two presenters come to the workshop to guide the parents through the FASFA process.
“The members from Navarro came so parents could hear an outside scope,” Read said. “The were very helpful and guided everyone through it.”
Read plans to have another workshop for the FASFA in a few months.
“I hope more parents and even students come to the next workshop,” Read said. “It will help them fill out the paperwork and more.”
