The bright red lipstick and sparkling uniforms stay on the minds of those in the stands as the Bison Belles showcase their famous moves.
The Bison Belles and their dancing have inspired many girls to join their family over the years, and one of those girls is freshman Marlene Diaz. She has made many memories in the first few months of being a Belle.
“I was really nervous for my first performance about messing up in front of the large crowd,” Marlene Diaz said. “But the best memory I have about Belles so far is when I got rewarded for being the most improved among the girls.”
Diaz already had friends from the past years that also joined belles this year. She was relieved to see a friendly familiar face in the crowd after seeing so many new faces
“I’ve known Marlene even before she started belles” returning belle Jennifer Dominguez said. “She was always so shy but she didn’t let that get in her way from her passion for dancing .”
Diaz loves Belles but not only because she get to dance. Having her favorite teacher showing the choreography to her helped her learn dances more easily.
“I felt like Marlene improved so much in a short amount of time because she actually applied the skills taught,” Amanda Harter said. “ We all felt like Marlene was the best.”
