A government lawyer in a Virginia court states that over 100,000 immigrant visas have been revoked. In response to the significant number of visa cancellations, a judge in Virginia has ordered a restraining order a temporary restraining order against removing lawful permanent residents until next Friday. This restricts law enforcement from removing residents from their homes.
This order was made by the Virginia Attorney General but was denied at first because it troubled the judge due to its restriction “on any denial of access to counsel”. However, the motion was still passed. In response to the Virginia government challenging president Donald Trump’s executive order, the judge who signed for the restraining order has been denounced from his position.
