Where most teens love heading to a theme park and enjoying the thrill of a roller coaster ride, sophomore Allison Burns prefers the thrill of riding horses.
“I love being able to ride my horses to clear my head,” Burns said. “It gives me adrenaline.”
Some of Burns favorite activities to do when she has free time is training horses, barrel racing and being an FFA officer.
“As I said before I love riding my horses,” Burns said. “Especially barrel racing.”
The most important thing to Burns in school would be FFA.
“It’s more than a group; it’s a family,” Burns said. “We all have each other’s backs.”
Burns loves animals and ag so much that she wants to go to college to be an Ag teacher.
“I admire the way my Ag teachers have influenced me,” Burns said. “They taught me to never give up and I can only hope to help a student like they did for me.”
Earlier this year Burns’ older brother was recruited to the U.S. Military. She looks up to him and says she loves him a lot more for fighting to keep us free.
“It’s hard knowing he is going into dangerous situations,” Burns said. “But I respect him to fight for the babies and people who can’t fight for themselves.”
