Emma Reeder is a freshman who participates in Bison Belles, Theatre and FFA. She also shows goats in the Leon County Stock show.
“I started showing goats to raise money for college,” Reeder said. “I like it because it’s a lot of fun and I get to meet new people.”
Reeder has been showing goats for about 5 years.
“It’s a lot of hard work,” Reeder said. “But it’s a lot of fun so it pays off.”
Reeder was on the junior Chapter Conducting team for LEDs in FFA. She also was on the junior Quiz team.
“It was sort of a challenge memorizing the both things I had to,” Reeder said. “But I love the FFA, and I worked as hard as I could.”
Reeder is the youngest in Belles. She is also the only Freshman on the team.
“At first it was a little scary, you know being older and all,” Reeder said. “But I made some really great friends and I really enjoy it.”
According to Reeder, her favorite activity is Belles.
“I love all the girls in there,” Reeder said. “It’s a lot of fun and I love to dance.”
After high school, she plans to go to Sam Houston to become a teacher.
“I don’t know what kind of teacher I want to be yet,” Reeder said. “But I love the idea of being able to help students out and teaching them new things.”
