A sense of humor always helps in new situations. Freshman Truman Garza found that out at the start of the year.
“When I got here I didn’t know what to think about all these new people but when I found people I knew, I knew it was going to be a good year,” Garza said. “Many people didn’t know me yet, but being the guy I am, I made sure everyone knew soon enough.”
Garza participates in football and is on the junior varsity team this year.
“Football means a lot to me and even while the season was ending I was getting impatient for next year,” Garza said. “I’m going to go into each season of football each year with more and more knowledge about it and more experience; that, I can’t wait for.”
Anytime someone is around Garza, he always ends up making them smile.
“He is always so funny,” sophomore Brenda Garcia said. “There was this one day I was upset about a lot of stuff that had been going on, and for me that’s rare cause I’m always smiling, but he was the only one to make me smile.”
After high school he plans on being in the NFL and being a great football player.
“For me, being a football player means a lot to me,” Garza said. “I have many people in my life that want me to be one, and one of them is my dad. He supports me in every way he can. That pushes me more.”
