Jurassic World does not live up to predecessor
Twenty-two years later after the events of Jurassic Park, a new theme park opens to the public. Brothers Gray and Zack Mitchell travel to view the park and visit their Aunt Claire Dearing, who is the park’s operating manager. Claire’s assistant picks up the boys from the airport, because Claire is busy getting new sponsors for the park’s newest attraction, a genetically modified synthetic dinosaur called Indominus rex. After the vicious but intelligent monster escapes, the park is sent into a frenzy. Now Owen Grady , an ex-military animal expert who trains the velociraptor, must find away to save the whole park before it’s too late.
The movie stars Chris Pratt as Owen, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire, Ty Simpkins as Gray Mitchell and Nick Robinson as Zach Mitchell. The chemistry between the cast is believable. The love chemistry between Claire and Owen is great. They make the audience think that they are really in love. The sibling relationship between Zach and Gray is really bad at first. Zack at first ignores Gray and is rude to him. Then when the two start to bond at the park they become closer. Zack is protective of Gray while in the face of danger.
The structure of the movie held its own; people believed that it was going to copy Jurassic Park. Even though the movie had some similar elements to Jurassic Park,it was not the same at all. Even though they do mention the events of the original movie and show the old abandoned visitor park, it was different.
The lighting in this film was how it needed to be. It was dark and dull in the scary scenes. It was also lit up in the intense and happy scenes. The direction of the movie was impressing; Colin Trevorrow did a great job. Trevorrow was a fan of the original movie which I feel is important because they know the level of expectations that the fans have.
The music in this film was cliche and annoying. Jurassic Park fans such as myself were very disappointed that the film did not contain the original score from Jurassic Park.
Jurassic World is a great movie for anyone who loves dinosaurs, action and a little comedy. This film will leave you on the edge of your seat. Jurassic World will be available for DVD in October.
