Lady Bison bring home trophy
The Lady Bison spent much of the last weekend in Fairfield playing basketball, bringing home the second-place trophy in the bronze bracket.
“In our first tournament we got third, and in the Fairfield tournament we got second,” head coach Jozette Jenkins said. “So it’s only right for us to come home with a first place trophy when we come back from Missouri.”
The team turned around to host their first home game Tuesday against Hearne. It was an easy win for the basketball team even while missing three starting players. Due to knee injuries, Jordan Jenkins, Taylor Shelton and Maci Hoffman sat out on Tuesday’s game.
“Taylor tore her MCL which will cause her to sit out for a week,” Jenkins said. “The cold weather is definitely taking a toll on Maci and Jordan.”
All three players have been rehabbing this week to prepare for the start of district. The first district game will be next Tuesday against Elkhart.
“Ice baths have been killing me this week,” Hoffman said. “My knee does feel better though, so I don’t mind taking them.”
The next game for the girls will be on Friday against Dallas Faith Family at their court.
