FCCLA members served at an appreciation dinner for the school board last week, showing gratitude for their dedication to the district. The event took place in the school cafeteria, where board members, administrators and guests gathered for an evening of recognition and fellowship.
“It is my second year in FCCLA,” junior Yazmin Richardson said. “I love that our organization does so much for our community and campus and that we can help with things like the appreciation dinner for the board.”

Cactus Grill, a popular local restaurant, catered the meal, providing fajitas, rice and beans. FCCLA members were excited to show off their hospitality skills.
“I enjoyed helping out with catering and setting up,” junior Brock Corbitt said. “This is a fun event to work at, and everyone always gets excited and happy when they hear we’re serving Mexican food.”
By hosting this dinner, FCCLA not only celebrated the board’s contributions but also showcased the leadership and service skills the organization values.
“The board members are always super supportive when it comes to our programs,” senior Madison Gilliam said. “It was nice to be able to do something for them in return for their generosity. After all, they deserve it.”
